Engineer - Process Control

Celltrion Branchburg, LLC is hiring an on-site Process Control Engineer in Branchburg, NJ. This role supports GMP manufacturing by strengthening the process automation and data foundations used to run biologics production reliably. You will work at the intersection of PLC/HMI control, S88 batch recipes, IIoT instrumentation, historian reporting, and analytics, while partnering with cross-functional teams across Maintenance, IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation, and Quality.

What you’ll do

• Oversee development and/or configuration of PLC/HMI code, S88 batch recipe, smart (IIOT) instruments/devices, and historian data, including historian reports and data analytics that support manufacturing process reliability.
• Provide frontline support for Process Control systems and support Building Management System (BMS) and utility and manufacturing process control needs as applicable.
• Support day-to-day Process Control activities, including building data analytics tools and reports, driving GMP change control/deviation, adhering to project schedules, and programming process control systems as applicable.
• Deliver technical support for daily biologics manufacturing operations and support specification, installation, start-up, and validation activities for process equipment projects.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, IT, Engineering, and Manufacturing to manage shutdown activities, prepare and review Operational SOPs and Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), lead project activities, and represent the Process Control group in process meetings.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Rockwell Process Control systems including PLCs and HMIs, OSI PI historian, MS SQL reporting, Thin Manager, and data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SAS (as applicable), plus electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC/HMI code, smart instrument and historian data collection systems, and support RCA and deviation efforts as applicable.
• Manage work with contractors developing PLC/HMI/historian code, and collaborate with professional consultants and mechanical contractors on design and construction documentation.
• Lead installation, start-up, commissioning, and qualification activities.
• Provide on-call after-hours and weekend support to ensure continuous production.
• Author, review, and approve change controls, deviation investigations, SOPs, drawings, schematics, work orders, and other GMP documentation.
• Support continuous improvement efforts, including process monitoring, audit trail readiness, and data integrity requirements, as applicable.

Required experience and skills

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Deep technical knowledge and experience with Rockwell (PLC/HMI) Process Control Systems (as applicable)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with OSI PI Historian, MS SQL database/reporting, and Data Analytics tools (as applicable)
• Technical knowledge and experience with data analytics tools to monitor manufacturing processes and reduce cost, including data integrity (DI) compliance (as applicable)
• Frontline support experience in a GMP environment
• 1–3 years’ experience with Rockwell Automation (PLCs/HMIs), FactoryTalk Batch, and OSI PI systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to influence and work independently and in a team environment
• Flexible, resilient, and proactive; curious to learn new technology
• Strong leadership skills, as applicable

Compensation and benefits

Salary range: USD 72,000 to 116,000 per year.
