Job Description
Responsibilities
- Functionally manage a group of 10 to 12 designers, overseeing performance, career development, staffing, and compensation planning
- Provide project and technical oversight for design activities performed by the team
- Maintain and enforce design processes and guidelines used by the group
- Contribute to proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
- Collaborate with peer managers to maintain consistency across multiple work groups
- Support department initiatives, recruiting efforts, technology roadmap development, cross-campus/sector involvement, and internally funded projects
- Lead recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new personnel
- Promote employee engagement and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team
Requirements
- Master's Degree in a STEM field with 6 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 8 years of relevant experience; or Associate's Degree in a STEM field with 10 years of relevant experience; or a High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant experience
- Minimum 6 years of MCAD design experience, including creating 3D CAD models and engineering drawings of mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Minimum 6 years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within diverse teams
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in roles such as functional manager, program manager, or technical lead
- Proficiency with common engineering design, production, and office tools
- U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret clearance; ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI and pass a polygraph

Compensation and Additional Information
Salary range: USD 139,800 - 209,800 per year. This range is a general guideline; actual offers consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, along with the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the role, overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply, with annual bonuses designed to reward individual contributions and company results. Long Term Incentives may be available for Vice President or Director positions.
