Entry Level Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Entry-level Electrical Engineer role with a global machine tools manufacturer in the Automotive Industry, onsite near Troy, OH, with training provided for new graduates and up to 25% travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop PLC based software programs tailored to project specifications
- Design and enhance robot human-machine interfaces to improve usability and functionality
- Debug and commission control systems at the facility, during system integration, and at customer sites during installation
- Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers
- Travel to customer and supplier locations to perform installation, commissioning, and training tasks as assigned
- Conduct thorough testing of machine functionality to verify software completeness
- Collaborate with the control systems team to continually improve functionality while reducing costs
- Support robot installation and coordinate with the installation manager to ensure complete field commissioning
- Perform additional duties as required
Requirements
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
- At least 1 year of PLC programming experience
- Experience with industrial robots
- Experience troubleshooting and performing point-to-point testing of electrical systems
- Familiarity with motion control and robotics applications
- Hands-on wiring experience with electrical panels
- Knowledge of power distribution circuits, cable and fuse selection
- Familiarity with DC circuit design and wiring
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to travel up to 25%
- Physical requirements include extended typing, varied postures (sitting, standing, walking), climbing stairs, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; vision capabilities including close and distance vision, color and depth perception, and peripheral vision

Compensation
- Salary: USD 55,000 - 65,000 per year
