Finance Software Engineer
Job Description
Apple is seeking a Finance Software Engineer to build and maintain full-stack web applications and automation solutions used by the company’s global Finance organization. In this onsite role in Cupertino, CA, you will partner with business teams to translate requirements into working software while supporting SDLC and compliance needs across security, privacy, and controls.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with business partners, analysts, and fellow Engineers to conceptualize, design, develop, document, test, and upgrade web applications and their components
- Write efficient code and develop full-stack applications based on requirements
- Test and deploy programs and applications in line with Apple’s SDLC
- Triage, debug, maintain, and continuously improve existing applications
- Create technical documentation to support application operations and future development
- Enhance existing applications based on evolving business requirements
- Implement and maintain compliance with InfoSec, Privacy, and SOX guidelines
- Work with other Engineers to establish and adopt best practices for application and software development
- Partner with DevOps to evaluate emerging technologies and help enable adoption of new capabilities and techniques
Required qualifications
- Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Solid technical foundation with experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting applications and automation solutions, ideally in a highly agile environment
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Software Quality Control within Agile practices
- Demonstrated proficiency with:
- Web development with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and alternatives)
- JavaScript libraries including React and VueJS
- Object-oriented programming languages including Python
- SQL and the ability to analyze and operate on very large data sets
- APIs and Microservices using GraphQL and REST
- Relational databases such as MySQL and Postgres
- Unix shell scripting
- Git for code management

Compensation and location
- Location: Cupertino, CA (onsite)
- Salary: USD 150,400 - 225,300 per year
