Forward-Deployed Software Engineer

This full-time, hybrid position places a Forward-Deployed Software Engineer in San Francisco, embedded with enterprise clients to extract data, build pipelines, and deliver end-to-end, production-grade solutions. Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 per year, plus equity; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Deploy on-site or collaborate closely with client engineering teams to pull data from ERP systems, data warehouses, and SaaS tools
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code in Python, SQL, and other required languages
• Design and deploy data pipelines, APIs, and internal tooling to support analytics and modeling workflows
• Partner with technical and non-technical customer stakeholders to understand systems, workflows, and pain points
• Collaborate with internal data scientists, strategists, and platform engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Surface client insights to inform the product roadmap and internal tooling priorities
• Embed with client teams to comprehend their environments, transform complex datasets, and build scalable solutions

Requirements

• 3–5 years in a data-heavy, customer-facing software engineering role (eg, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Forward-Deployed Engineer)
• Experience in at least one customer-facing technical role (eg, FDE, Solutions Architect)
• Proven ability to build and deploy data ingestion and integration pipelines using Python and SQL
• Deep experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and enterprise systems (ERPs, data warehouses)
• Hybrid work availability from the San Francisco office (2–4 days per week)
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites

The Role

As a Forward-Deployed Software Engineer, you will engage directly with enterprise clients to address high-impact data and engineering challenges. You will embed with client teams to learn their systems, extract and transform complex datasets, and deliver scalable solutions. This is a technically focused role requiring production-grade code, data pipeline development, and integration with real-world, often messy, environments.
