Founding AI Engineer

This founding AI engineering role supports a seed-stage team building AI agents that operate as IT technicians for small and midsize businesses. You will collaborate closely with the founders to deliver agent capabilities, scale the underlying infrastructure, and ship customer-facing functionality.

Role & Scope

You will help build AI agents that investigate and resolve IT support tickets in real customer environments. Work spans distributed infrastructure, agent architecture, and integrations across the product surface area, informed by direct customer feedback.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve AI agents that investigate and resolve IT support tickets across live customer environments
• Scale infrastructure and distributed systems to match customer growth while maintaining reliability
• Ship across the full surface area from frontend to backend to integrations, guided by feedback from customers
• Work day to day with the founders on a fast-moving roadmap
• Optional: Spend time with customers to understand their problems and influence product direction

Requirements

• Two to five years building software across the full stack
• A track record of shipping production systems and maintaining them at a scale of roughly fifty customers or more
• Practical command of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and agent architectures
• A founding-engineer disposition, including shipping side projects and readiness for the pace and commitment of an early team
• Clear communication, the ability to simplify complex problems, and prioritization and decisiveness on what matters first

Compensation & Benefits

• $175,000 to $220,000 per year + competitive early-stage equity

Nice to Have

• AI agents or tool-using LLM systems you have run in production, not just prototyped
• Experience at an early-stage startup, such as between seed and Series C
• Exposure to enterprise IT, security, or identity management
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a comparable technical field
• Depth in distributed systems and backend infrastructure
• Comfort owning front-end product work alongside backend and platform layers
