Gen AI Engineer

Build enterprise-ready autonomous AI at Robotics Technologies in an onsite role in Chicago, IL. This position focuses on designing and constructing an AI agent platform that supports scalable multi-agent orchestration and production-grade autonomous solutions. You will help establish the foundations teams need to build, deploy, and operate agents reliably, with strong emphasis on observability, governance, security, model and tool gateways, and automated evaluation.

What you’ll do

• Design and build an enterprise-grade AI agent platform for scalable multi-agent orchestration, agentic workflows, model gateways, observability, governance, security, and automated evaluation frameworks for production-ready autonomous AI across multiple business domains.
• Provide a standardized enterprise foundation so teams can build, deploy, and operate AI agents using different development approaches and frameworks, while maintaining consistent orchestration, integration, governance, security, and observability.
• Create agentic workflows and multi-agent orchestration, including both event-driven and workflow-based patterns.
• Implement enterprise-grade observability with centralized instrumentation, tracing, operational metrics, performance monitoring, error tracking, and visibility into agent execution and behavior.
• Build a centralized gateway for AI model interactions, agent tools, and external services, with consistent security, governance, authentication and authorization, access control, throttling, monitoring, and policy enforcement.
• Develop a scalable, extensible, technology-agnostic AI platform that enables independent agent development across teams and business domains while adhering to shared enterprise standards for interoperability, security, governance, reliability, and operational management.
• Advance production-grade AI engineering capabilities including Agent Harness Engineering, automated and closed-loop evaluation, feedback loops, prompt and model evaluation, observability, guardrails, resiliency, and continuous improvement mechanisms.

What you bring

• Experience designing agentic workflows and multi-agent orchestration, including both event-driven and workflow-based patterns.
• Experience establishing enterprise-grade observability: centralized instrumentation, tracing, operational metrics, performance monitoring, error tracking, and insight into agent execution and behavior.
• Experience building a centralized gateway for AI model interactions, agent tools, and external services with security, governance, authentication and authorization, access control, throttling, monitoring, and policy enforcement.
• Experience creating scalable, extensible, technology-agnostic AI platforms that support independent agent development while meeting enterprise standards for interoperability, security, governance, reliability, and operational management.
• Focus on production-grade AI engineering capabilities, including Agent Harness Engineering, automated and closed-loop evaluation, feedback loops, prompt and model evaluation, observability, guardrails, resiliency, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
