Job Description

Geotechnical Engineer position in Madison, Wisconsin focusing on analysis, reporting, and coordination with field and laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate soil boring logs and lab test results, including classification and interpretation
  • Draft and finalize geotechnical reports in accordance with firm and client standards
  • Request and review laboratory testing to support geotechnical analyses
  • Provide technical oversight of laboratory testing procedures to ensure compliance with ASTM and applicable standards
  • Assess slope stability
  • Compute soil bearing capacity and settlements
  • Analyze rate of consolidation
  • Conduct and interpret double-ring infiltration tests
  • Uphold consistency and quality across geotechnical deliverables

Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin Professional Engineer (PE) license in geotechnical engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
  • Extensive hands-on experience performing core geotechnical analyses
  • Proficiency with boring log management software
  • Proficiency with stability analysis software
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects as needed
  • Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
