Geotechnical Engineer 2

CDM Smith seeks a junior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Infrastructure Services Team in Denver, CO (onsite), with an annual salary range of USD 75,213 to 124,134.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, create excavation, dewatering, shallow/deep foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental projects, etc.
• Support engineering designs of basic to moderate complexity to meet client project requirements.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Perform site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
• Update design requirements as necessary.
• Perform soil sampling analyses and modeling.
• Contribute to the firm's Knowledge Material by developing white papers and technical design documentation for new or special case designs, studies, etc.
• Submit technical papers and designs for publishing in technical journals.
• Perform other duties as required.
• May create or collaborate on a poster or other presentation material for a conference.

Requirements

• Intermediate knowledge of computer aided design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency contingent on duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Amount of Travel Required: 20% - 40%.
