Job Description
The Instrument and Controls Engineer (EIT) will support on-site design, development, and implementation of advanced control systems for manufacturing and process facilities in Manassas, Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific engineering work
- Design facility control systems, including fire alarm systems, chemical controls, Toxic Gas Monitoring (TGM), and SCADA
- Create P&IDs, loop drawings, and detailed wiring diagrams
- Perform instrument and control component sizing and selection, including preparation of instrument data sheets
- Review vendor submittals and engineering deliverables to confirm compliance with client requirements, applicable codes, and standards
- Initiate and develop Sequence of Operation (SOO) documentation
- Support technical and business presentations with clients and internal teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification
- 6+ years of experience in industrial control systems engineering and design
- Working knowledge of PLC systems, industrial networks, cybersecurity, motor control, and power distribution systems
- Experience designing PLC-based systems, including Allen-Bradley, Schnieder Modicon, and Siemens
- Understanding of national codes and standards, including NFPA 70 and UL 508A

- Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
