Job Description

This role leads the instrumentation and controls engineering discipline for RPT Alliance in Houston, TX, providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and mentorship to drive execution excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment sizing and selection, conduct alternative analyses, and prepare associated deliverables.
  • Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for facilities.
  • Present engineering and design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Plan, forecast, and track deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements.
  • Identify scope changes and estimate their impact on effort and schedule.
  • Support proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, listing deliverables, and estimating required effort.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence.
  • Prepare, review, and approve instrumentation equipment, conduit and wiring calculations, requisitions, lists, studies, reports, BOMs, and designs.
  • Develop Operating Controls Philosophy and Cause and Effect Diagrams; review HMI layouts and Network Architecture Diagrams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Seven or more years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer PE license preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of instrument and controls engineering principles and practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering software and tools for system design, simulation, and analysis.
  • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • In-depth understanding of process control systems and automation technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement instrumentation and control engineering standards and guidelines.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
