Integration & Automation Engineer

Integration & Automation Engineer role in Gatesville, TX (onsite) with a salary range of USD 80,000 - 105,000 per year, focused on designing, building, and supporting API integrations, ArcGIS/GIS workflows, and automation across infrastructure and development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain API integrations using REST, JSON, OAuth, and related technologies
• Connect external systems, databases, applications, and data sources to current platforms
• Troubleshoot issues and sustain existing integrations
• Support hardware interfaces and field-data ingestion integrations
• Create automation and workflow improvements across multiple platforms
• Contribute to ArcGIS integration projects and workflow development
• Collaborate with Esri ArcGIS environments, including ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise
• Integrate external systems and data into GIS environments
• Support mapping, reporting, mobile, and field-data collection workflows
• Assist with GIS application development and related automation efforts
• Provide analytical and coding support for web service development, mobile apps, Python scripting, GIS application development, and data synchronization workflows
• Perform quality assurance and debugging of geospatial data, scripts, services, and integrations to ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability
• Develop scripts and automations, with PowerShell experience preferred
• Streamline workflows to reduce manual steps
• Improve operational efficiency through automation and systems integration
• Support documentation, data synchronization, and reporting initiatives

Requirements

• Experience with API integrations and authentication methods
• Experience working with ArcGIS or other GIS environments
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to design and implement automation workflows
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams and clients

Location and Work Environment

This position may be based in either Gatesville, TX or Austin, TX, with office space available in both locations depending on where the candidate is hired. Travel between Austin and Gatesville is expected as needed, typically a couple of times per week, based on project needs, client meetings, and collaboration requirements.
