Integration & Automation Engineer

f8 Tech LLC is seeking an Integration & Automation Engineer for an onsite contract role based in Austin, TX. The position focuses on building and supporting API integrations, advancing GIS initiatives, and automating data workflows across multiple environments, including web services, mobile support, and field-data synchronization. You will collaborate across internal teams and client environments to improve efficiency and data reliability within ArcGIS workflows and related platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain API integrations using REST, JSON, OAuth, and related technologies
• Integrate external systems, databases, applications, and data sources
• Troubleshoot and sustain existing integrations
• Support hardware and field-data integrations
• Develop automation and workflow improvements across multiple platforms
• Support ArcGIS integration projects and workflows
• Work with Esri ArcGIS environments, including ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise
• Incorporate external systems and data into GIS environments
• Support mapping, reporting, mobile, and field-data collection workflows
• Assist with GIS application development and related automation
• Provide analytical and coding support for web service development
• Provide analytical and coding support for mobile applications
• Provide analytical and coding support for Python scripting
• Provide analytical and coding support for GIS application development
• Provide analytical and coding support for data synchronization workflows
• Perform quality assurance and debugging of geospatial data, scripts, services, and integrations to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Develop scripts and automations, with PowerShell experience preferred
• Streamline workflows and reduce manual processes
• Improve operational efficiency through automation and systems integration
• Support documentation, data synchronization, and reporting initiatives

Requirements

• Experience with API integrations and authentication methods
• Experience working with ArcGIS or other GIS environments
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to design and implement automation workflows
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams and clients

Location and work environment

This position may be based in Gatesville, TX or Austin, TX, with office space available in either location. The role typically involves travel between Austin and Gatesville a couple of times per week, depending on project needs, client meetings, and collaboration requirements.
