JAVA Software Engineer

Senior-level Java engineering role in St. Louis with hybrid work arrangements, focused on modernizing mission-critical enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and TypeScript, supporting event-driven and RESTful integration patterns
• Develop solutions on AWS GovCloud using ECS/EKS, Lambda, EventBridge, and RDS within microservices and micro-frontend architecture
• Reduce and manage technical debt by upgrading outdated dependencies and frameworks
• Deliver test automation coverage using UI testing and behavior-driven development (BDD) approaches
• Partner with enterprise architects and scrum teams to translate architectural intent into scalable, implementable solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on development
• Advanced proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem
• Experience with AWS Cloud, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, and RDS/Aurora
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK or CloudFormation
• Experience with Angular
• Familiarity with micro-frontend architecture, including module federation, is a plus
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, including the ability to document designs and explain complex ideas clearly
