Responsibilities
- Review contracts and technical specifications to ensure materials and workmanship meet contractual requirements.
- Prepare proposals and project estimates.
- Project management and coordination of field and laboratory testing.
- Perform site visits and field inspections when required.
- Conduct comprehensive laboratory testing of construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soils, and other building components to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with contractors, project managers, field technicians, and laboratory personnel to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
- Quality review of daily field and laboratory reports.
- Finalize and submit reports according to client deadlines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, ideally with a focus on materials testing / geotechnical engineering.
- BS in Civil/Geotechnical/Construction Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
- Prior laboratory experience performing materials testing procedures for concrete, soils, and related construction materials.
- Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques.
- Hands-on knowledge of construction processes including site inspections, concrete forming, and general construction practices.
- A valid driverβs license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Civil engineering experience: 6 years (Required).
