Job Description
Overview
VTG's program focuses on advancing artificial intelligence, machine learning, and enterprise data management capabilities. Technical teams provide design, development, operations, and maintenance for a range of systems and initiatives, with a emphasis on streamlining operations, automating processes, and aligning data management solutions with the organization's digital architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, operate, and maintain software applications that support mission and enterprise objectives.
- Apply Scrum and Agile development methodologies for software application development unless directed otherwise by the customer.
- Translate user and mission requirements into end-to-end application and database designs.
- Develop solutions that integrate with multiple applications, interfaces, APIs, and supporting database systems.
- Develop software applications and web services using JavaScript-capable technologies and other approved programming languages.
- Write, test, debug, and maintain application code across multiple programming languages and technology stacks.
- Identify, track, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and programming bugs.
- Support application integration, implementation, operations, and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Apply security patches, perform security scans, assess vulnerabilities, and support remediation efforts.
- Support the application security accreditation and authorization process.
- Develop clear and effective technical documentation, including requirements documents, procedures, correspondence, and reports.
- Explain technical protocols, procedures, processes, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Plan development activities, establish goals, determine implementation strategies, and monitor progress toward project objectives.
- Collaborate with software developers, engineers, data professionals, and other technical stakeholders in an Agile team environment.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or a minimum of 3 years of professional Software Developer experience.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation, operations, and maintenance.
- Experience developing web applications and web services.
- Proficiency in at least two programming, scripting, or database languages relevant to the project.
- Ability to translate user requirements into end-to-end designs involving multiple interfaces and supporting systems.
- Experience identifying, tracking, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects.
- Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development methodologies.
- Ability to communicate technical procedures, protocols, and processes clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop clear, concise, and effective technical documentation.
