Lead AI Engineer

The Lead AI Engineer will provide technical leadership for the design and development of AI algorithms, models, and systems supporting computer vision and autonomy capabilities for aerial vehicle platforms at Honeywell Aerospace.

Role Overview

This position is based in Plymouth, MN with a hybrid work schedule. The Lead AI Engineer will guide multi-year research planning and lead execution with a global team, focusing on AI technologies that enable autonomous vehicle operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert-level technical leadership across the design and development of AI algorithms, models, and AI-enabled systems.
• Drive development focused on computer vision, artificial intelligence, and autonomy technologies for aerial vehicle platforms.
• Craft and implement multi-year research plans to support technology roadmap execution.
• Develop and support AI technologies for autonomous vehicle operations, including navigation and obstacle detection.
• Pursue government and internal funding to support technology development efforts.
• Lead delivery of technical work with a global team of scientists and engineers.
• Report directly to the manager of the autonomy, computer vision and AI research group.

Work Location and Schedule

The selected candidate will work out of the Plymouth, MN location under a hybrid work schedule.
