This onsite position in Jersey City, NJ blends engineering excellence with customer-focused outcomes, backed by a competitive salary range of $118,700 to $243,700 per year and a discretionary annual incentive program.

The Team

US Deloitte Technology Product Engineering has modernized software and product delivery to create a scalable, cost‑effective model that prioritizes value and outcomes. As Deloitte's primary internal development team, Product Engineering delivers innovative digital solutions to businesses, service lines, and internal operations, driving proven bottom-line results and powering Deloitte’s success. It serves as the engine that propels the firm forward.

Responsibilities

  • Outcome driven accountability: build solutions that produce measurable customer and business value with lean, high quality designs and implementations.
  • Technical leadership and advocacy: act as the technical advocate for products, ensuring code integrity, feasibility, and alignment with goals; lead requirement analysis, architecture design, development, testing, integrations, and support.
  • Engineering craftsmanship: own the integrity of the architecture and tech stack to enterprise standards; manage dependencies, code design, quality, data, and operations; stay hands-on, continuously learn new approaches, and mentor others through code reviews and technical guidance.
  • Customer centric engineering: deliver lean solutions through rapid, inexpensive experimentation; engage with customers and product teams before, during, and after delivery to ensure the right solution is delivered at the right time.
  • Incremental and iterative delivery: favor action and evidence over heavy planning; navigate complexity to deliver lean, maintainable solutions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and integration: work with product management, experience, and delivery teams; incorporate diverse perspectives to balance feasibility, viability, usability, and value; foster collaboration and innovation.
  • Advanced technical proficiency: demonstrate deep software engineering practices including AI and agentic SSDLC; deliver daily deployments with full automation from discovery to production while maintaining quality checks throughout the lifecycle; mentor others and model best practices.
  • Domain expertise: quickly acquire domain knowledge relevant to the business; translate needs into technical specifications and code; contribute as a flexible, quality-focused team member.
  • Effective communication and influence: clearly articulate complex concepts and trade-offs with evidence; align technical solutions with business objectives through coherent narratives.
  • Engagement and collaborative co-creation: partner with product engineering teams at all levels and with customers as needed; nurture constructive relationships and drive consensus toward feasible solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, machine learning, or a related discipline. Experience is a key factor.
  • 6+ years of experience with most of the following: Angular, React, NodeJS, Python, C#, .NET, Java, SQL/NoSQL, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LangGraph, and unit testing frameworks.
  • 3+ years building AI/ML applications with hands-on GenAI experience across LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models), RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and vector databases.
  • 3+ years cloud-native engineering using FaaS, PaaS, or microservices on Azure, AWS, or GCP, including their AI/ML services such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Vertex AI.
  • 1+ years establishing engineering standards, including actively leading, mentoring, and guiding teams in adopting and improving those standards.
  • Background in software engineering with understanding of Business Context Diagrams, sequence/activity/state/entity diagrams, OOP/OOD, data structures, algorithms, code instrumentation, and AI-augmented spec-driven development.
  • Experience with XP, Lean, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube, MLflow and agentic AI frameworks (eg LangFuse, LangSmith) to rapidly deliver high quality products.
