Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for designing and delivering modern data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse, including data pipelines, notebooks, lakehouse architectures, and enterprise data warehouses
- Guide cross-functional teams through blueprinting, architecture, implementation, and hypercare support to establish robust data warehousing
- Collaborate with management, customers, and team members to capture requirements across initiatives
- Estimate work effort, resources, timelines, and costs for multiple projects across areas of expertise
- Offer guidance on data governance, security, and privacy across cloud environments
- Lead or assist in troubleshooting application performance, usage, and general support activities
- Create system documentation, user manuals, and deliver user training sessions
- Own disaster recovery initiatives and change management standards and procedures
- Define, monitor, and improve service delivery levels focusing on reliability, availability, accuracy, serviceability, and cost
- Support IT management in formulating and executing complex objectives aligned with strategic goals
- Evaluate third-party solutions, stay current with technologies, and integrate new capabilities as appropriate
- Pursue ongoing technical and business development through self-directed learning and vendor interfaces
- Provide 24-hour on-call support, including evenings and weekends
- Adhere to the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years of proven experience designing and implementing data warehouse architectures, data delivery, data modeling, ETL tools, master data management, and delivering highly automated, well-documented solutions
- Five or more years with Microsoft cloud data platform solutions including Fabric OneLake, Azure Synapse, DevOps, Data Factory, pipelines and notebooks
- Experience with monitoring and optimization tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Fabric capacity metrics, or equivalents
- Proficiency in Medallion architecture modeling
- Python programming and data processing (dataframes, Spark, etc.)
- SQL development and performance optimization
- Microsoft Power BI knowledge is a plus
- Strong communication, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to mentor other team members in cloud technologies
