Job Description
The Lead Healthcare Cloud Data Engineer partners with multiple teams to design, build, and maintain data systems and pipelines within a compliant healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross functional groups to design, build, and maintain data systems and applications.
- Analyze and design data storage structures to support analytics and operations.
- Develop performant automated data pipelines that are reliable and scalable in a rapidly expanding data ecosystem.
- Apply data modeling principles and modern data platforms to implement robust pipeline solutions.
- Utilize analytic SQL and work with traditional relational databases as well as distributed systems such as AWS S3, Hadoop/Hive, and Redshift.
- Provide production support and adhere to defined service level agreements.
- Demonstrate strong technical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and policy adherence in healthcare services.
- Test and validate according to industry best practices and communicate effectively with technology peers.
- Communicate clearly with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal abilities across all organizational levels.
- Prior healthcare experience is a plus, with Epic systems experience strongly preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of data engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or at least 8 years with a Master's degree in end-to-end automation of data pipelines.
- Healthcare experience and Epic systems experience strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and data structures.
- Knowledge of data science and business intelligence workflows.
- Programming experience in Python and Java.
- Experience with large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including AWS technologies.
- Proven ability to communicate in writing, with technical depth and business acumen.
- Experience with machine learning toolkits.
- Experience in production support and troubleshooting.
- 10+ years of hands-on work with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, etc.) and 10+ years in data warehouse design/architecture with AWS, Data Vault 2, or Dimensional Modeling; familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Control-M; containerization with Docker and Kubernetes; Cloud Formation and Terraform; AWS services including S3, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, DynamoDB, DMS, RDS, etc.; Agile methodologies and DevOps processes; modern data integration tools (DBT, Informatica PowerCenter, AWS Glue or similar). 3+ years of data modeling and familiarity with AI/ML and BI tools is a plus.

Compensation
Salary range: USD 126,148 - 163,993 per year, commensurate with experience.
