Lead Software Engineer

Join Deloitte in Tampa, FL on site to lead architecture and delivery of strategic healthcare data and AI/ML initiatives. This role guides real-time health record access and retrieval capabilities, spanning proof of concept through production. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will shape the technical direction for complex data and AI projects, partnering with diverse teams to align architecture with business goals and evolving requirements. The opportunity emphasizes hands on leadership, scalable cloud native solutions, and measurable impact across patient care and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and delivery of strategic healthcare data and AI/ML initiatives, including real-time health record access and retrieval capabilities.
• Design scalable, event driven data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.
• Architect and guide enterprise AI/ML solution delivery, covering solution design, deployment considerations, and integration into cloud native platforms.
• Own end to end technical design from proof of concept through production, including architecture decisions, integration patterns, and nonfunctional requirements.
• Serve as Tech Lead and Architect across a team of engineers, setting technical direction, design standards, and quality expectations.
• Build and oversee RESTful microservices in Python with FastAPI to expose healthcare data and support downstream applications and AI use cases.
• Partner with product, engineering, and client stakeholders to align architecture with business goals, delivery timelines, and changing requirements.
• Drive cross functional coordination to manage dependencies, risks, and trade offs while maintaining momentum toward production delivery.
• Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project teams, and other stakeholders, escalating matters that require management attention.
• Lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes, implementing leading practice workflows and driving operational outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions, including cloud native systems, data platforms, or distributed architectures.
• 5+ years of experience architecting and implementing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, or comparable technologies.
• 7+ years of experience designing event driven architectures and scalable real time data pipelines for high volume processing.
• 5+ years of experience leading or delivering AI/ML solution architecture, including deployment considerations and integration into enterprise platforms.
• 5+ years of experience building or leading development of RESTful APIs and microservices using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI.
• 7+ years of experience leading technical teams and translating evolving business requirements into production ready solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.
• Ability to travel up to 10 percent on average, depending on client engagements.
