Job Description
Senior Lead Software Engineer (Java) at JPMorganChase, onsite in Jersey City, NJ, with a salary range of USD 152,000 - 215,000 per year, leads agile engineering efforts to deliver secure, scalable products and advances AI assisted development.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to the business and its tech teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Deliver secure, high quality production code and review or debug code written by others.
- Drive decisions shaping product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
- Serve as a function wide subject matter expert in one or more focus areas.
- Champion enterprise authorized AI assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (eg AI aided code review/refactoring, expedited test strategy, incident and root-cause analysis support).
- Establish consistent validation standards, including secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing, while promoting reusable patterns across the team.
- Utilize SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize automation value.
- Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices.
- Influence peers and project decision makers to explore and adopt leading edge technologies.
- Foster a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect within the team.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in the Java programming language.
- Strong background in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Comprehensive understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced knowledge of agile practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Proven ability across software applications and technical processes within a discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Solid understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- In depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
