- Deliver creative solutions across design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to address complex problems
- Write secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code created by other engineers
- Champion adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery velocity, and operational outcomes (including AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, and incident or root-cause analysis support)
- Establish consistent validation standards covering secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reuse of effective patterns across the team
- Use tools in the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase value from automation
- Spot recurring software application or system issues and drive elimination or automation of remediation to improve operational stability
- Lead architecture evaluation sessions with internal teams using outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit for existing systems and information architecture
- Design and evolve platform components and data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Flink, ClickHouse, Trino, dbt, Kestra, Apache Iceberg, and PostgreSQL
- Implement solutions with a focus on resiliency, observability, and secure-by-design practices
- Build and integrate micro front-ends and user interfaces to support usable workflows for internal stakeholders

- Hands-on practical experience across system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming language(s)
- Proven experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to coach engineers on safe and compliant adoption
- Proficiency across all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Technologies
- Apache Flink, ClickHouse, Trino, dbt, Kestra, Apache Iceberg, PostgreSQL
- Micro front-ends
- JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular
- Java, Python
- CI/CD
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience operating distributed data platforms in production (for example, Apache Flink and Trino), including reliability, performance tuning, and operational support
- Experience designing and building data pipelines and data models with strong data quality, lineage, and recoverability patterns; familiarity with orchestration, dbt, and lakehouse table formats such as Apache Iceberg
- Experience delivering solutions across hybrid environments (on-premises and public cloud), including secure connectivity patterns, observability, access controls, and cost/performance considerations
- Strong backend engineering experience, such as Java for platform services and Python for automation and integration
- Experience building modern user interfaces and micro-frontends using JavaScript or TypeScript with React or Angular
- Ability to work independently from problem identification to end-to-end delivery, using design thinking and troubleshooting to reach root-cause resolution
