Responsibilities
- Design, build, and troubleshoot secure production code, tackling non‑trivial problems beyond routine approaches
- Produce high quality production code, review peers' work, and assist with debugging
- Champion enterprise AI assisted development practices to improve code quality, speed, and operations, establishing consistent validation standards and promoting reusable patterns
- Leverage the SDLC toolchain and enterprise AI capabilities to maximize automation and value
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring remediation to enhance software stability
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architecture and applicability within existing systems
- Drive communities of practice to raise awareness of new and leading technologies
- Contribute to an inclusive, diverse team culture
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering plus 5+ years of hands-on experience leading design and development efforts
- Expertise in Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA and microservices frameworks
- Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React and UI testing frameworks
- Proficiency with AI assisted development tools (for example GitHub Copilot and Claude Code) to accelerate full stack delivery while maintaining secure usage and SDLC compliance
- Proven ability to translate business needs into clear specifications (API contracts, UI acceptance criteria, test cases) and drive implementation from those specs
- Experience guiding teams in the use of approved AI assisted development tools, ensuring outputs are validated for correctness, performance, and security
- Solid understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching others on safe adoption
- Familiarity with log/metrics and monitoring tools (Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk) and hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines (Git, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify)
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle, including schema design, performance tuning, and SQL optimization
- Experience with event driven processing using Kafka; strong object oriented design and test driven development skills; hands-on with test automation frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Playwright, Cucumber)
