Lead Software Engineer-Security and Privileged Access
Job Description
JPMorgan Chase's Identity and Access Management team in Plano, Texas, on-site, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer specializing in Security and Privileged Access. This role focuses on delivering secure production code, guiding architectural decisions, and advancing AI-assisted engineering practices across the Software Development Life Cycle.
Responsibilities
- Designs and implements innovative software solutions, spanning from concept through development and troubleshooting, with the ability to tackle nontraditional problems and break down technical challenges.
- Delivers secure, high-quality production code and performs code reviews and debugging for peers.
- Proactively identifies recurring issues and automates remediation to enhance the stability of applications and systems.
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectures, credentials, and fit within existing information architectures.
- Fosters communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
- Supports a team culture that emphasizes diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
- Champions the enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery velocity, and operational outcomes, establishing consistent validation standards and encouraging reuse of proven patterns.
- Leverages the SDLC toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation, to maximize the value derived from automation initiatives.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering with five or more years of hands-on experience.
- Practical, hands-on experience across system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
- Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
- Strong foundation in object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, encryption, and RBAC/ABAC controls.
- Proven ability in automation and continuous delivery practices.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security, with expertise spanning the full SDLC.
- Practical experience with cloud-native technologies and real-time messaging systems.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases in contexts such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile environments.
- Demonstrated leadership in using approved AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong grasp of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security standards; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices.
