Lead, Systems Engineer
Job Description
Based onsite in Palm Bay, Florida, this role offers a platform to shape mission critical systems through leadership of system architecture across the full lifecycle. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, define requirements, and develop CONOPS and system artifacts for demanding environments. The position provides visibility into end to end system design and integration, and you will partner with product owners to refine evolving mission needs. The role is onsite, follows a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of mission concepts, end to end system solutions, CONOPS, and use cases across the lifecycle.
- Define and break down system level requirements, allocate them across the architecture, and establish traceability.
- Offer technical direction and advisory guidance across multiple engineering teams.
- Head system design, implementation, integration, and end to end verification and validation, including lab infrastructure and cross team coordination.
- Perform system level trade studies and apportion performance and functional requirements among software, firmware, and hardware components.
- Create and maintain system architecture diagrams, interface drawings, and related engineering artifacts.
- Analyze system performance, generate supporting data, identify root causes and trends, and lead RCCA activities.
- Support design reviews, readiness reviews, proposals, and both customer and internal presentations.
- Collaborate with product owners to capture evolving mission requirements and refine system concepts.
- Influence technical direction, engineering decisions, and cross team alignment through effective communication and leadership.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of related experience.
- A graduate degree and at least 7 years of related experience.
- In the absence of a degree, at least 13 years of related experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
