Job Description

MKM & ASSOCIATES, based in Rohnert Park, California, seeks a licensed structural design engineer to lead a diverse portfolio of projects and collaborate with principals and external consultants. This on-site role emphasizes mentorship of junior staff, sustained client engagement, and opportunities for professional growth into leadership responsibilities within a collaborative engineering practice.

Responsibilities

  • Develop structural systems for buildings and structures using CAD and modeling software.
  • Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure code compliance and safety.
  • Prepare detailed construction documents and specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and consultants.
  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and construction observation.
  • Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and city agencies.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Integrate new construction methods and technologies into your design work.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Structural Engineer (PE or SE) in California or eligible for reciprocity.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural design of residential and commercial low-rise buildings.
  • Expertise with timber, concrete, steel, and masonry materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering software such as ETABS and ADAPT.

Additional Information
