Machine Learning Engineer

Roper Technologies Inc is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems, including AI agents and enterprise integrations across the software portfolio. This onsite role is based in Sarasota, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production-ready machine learning models and AI systems
• Create components such as model inference services
• Build data and feature pipelines
• Develop complex recommendation and matching services
• Implement vision-based analysis systems
• Establish evaluation and monitoring pipelines
• Optimize models for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Contribute to AI agents and multi-step workflow automation
• Build integrations with enterprise tools and APIs
• Implement tool-use frameworks, memory mechanisms, and evaluation loops
• Experiment with LLMs, foundation models, and fine-tuning approaches
• Translate AI research advances into practical, scalable solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in architecture design and technical reviews
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and MLOps workflows
• Implement observability and monitoring for AI systems in production
• Follow security, compliance, and responsible AI best practices
• Collaborate with product, data engineering, and infrastructure teams
• Identify high-impact AI use cases within portfolio companies
• Support integration of shared AI components into business applications
• Communicate technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience in software engineering, data science, or machine learning; additional experience may apply for senior roles
• Experience delivering production-grade software systems
• Proficiency in Python; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
• Knowledge of modern AI architectures, including LLM-based systems
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
