Job Description

In this onsite Mechanical Engineer role at Schlumberger in Sugar Land, TX, you will support engineering efforts that develop and sustain improved techniques, procedures, and products to meet delivery objectives on schedule. The work combines analysis and design with prototyping, testing, documentation, and technical review, along with mentoring and leadership support for team members.

What you’ll do

  • Assist with identifying and organizing requirements, applying relevant usability procedures and principles.
  • Analyze, design, develop, and maintain products, including support for commercialization efforts.
  • Build prototypes, products, and systems for testing; set up and run lab simulations.
  • Design and implement tests, document results, develop customer presentations, and provide timely corrective actions for defects.
  • Produce engineering analyses and mathematical models, drawing design conclusions from those results.
  • Conduct or participate in technical reviews covering requirements, specifications, designs, code, and other engineering artifacts.
  • Contribute to design standards and support design reuse practices.
  • Create and maintain product documentation, and support field and customers through InTouch.
  • Provide user training as required.
  • Assign, direct, and review the work of technicians, providing guidance to engineers; mentor junior engineers with appropriate seniority.
  • Continually evaluate engineering approaches and associated risks.
  • Author technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations.
  • Stay current on novel technical concepts and markets, adopting new practices to develop innovative, low-cost products.
  • Maintain familiarity with company technology, organization, and business.
  • Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as defined in the risk control matrix.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience
  • BS in Mechanical
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and materials (can have)
