Mechanical Engineer – Product Design & Development - Manufacturing

A hands-on Mechanical Engineer is needed to lead product development, prototyping, testing, and the manufacturing launch of electro-mechanical products from concept through production, with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, cost control, and rapid time to market.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks
• Produce 3D CAD models, production drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation
• Support the full product development lifecycle from concept through production release
• Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, sourcing, and operations to resolve engineering and production issues
• Build, test, and evaluate prototypes
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for product failures or field issues
• Support product validation, reliability testing, and design improvements
• Assist with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost reduction initiatives
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including product management, operations, and quality
• Assist in engineering changes and revision control
• Support continuous product improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited U.S. university
• Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering and product development experience
• Strong SolidWorks design experience
• Experience designing real-world production products and assemblies
• Sheet metal, plastics, machined parts, welded assemblies, and injection molded components
• Experience creating production drawings and applying GD&T tolerances
• Strong mechanical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting a fast-moving engineering team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
