Job Description

US Vanadium, LLC offers a collaborative, hands-on engineering environment in Hot Springs, Arkansas. This onsite Metallurgical Engineer role provides the chance to shape metal refining and processing, support production lab activities, and lead manufacturing process improvements across the facility. Compensation: $35-$45 per hour. Location: Hot Springs, AR (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and optimize metal refining and processing workflows.
  • Assess metals against defined standards through testing to ensure quality.
  • Keep current with advancements in metallurgy and materials science.
  • Lead the initiation, coordination, and implementation of all manufacturing process improvement initiatives at the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality and process issues to drive reliable performance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the current chemical processes for producing vanadium oxides and related chemicals.
  • Provide technical guidance to production teams and laboratory management.
  • Support analytical methods and processes, including ICP workflows and month-end close tasks.
  • Justify, plan, and oversee process-improvement projects to reduce costs and boost efficiency.
  • Deliver in-plant technical support to operations.
  • Upgrade processes to increase productivity, efficiency, and product recovery.
  • Serve as a temporary supervisor when needed to support operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least one year of experience in process, equipment, design, or construction engineering.
  • Ability to critically evaluate problems and design effective solutions.
  • Strong communication, influence, and leadership skills to guide plant personnel through process changes.
  • Proven ability to motivate, communicate, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Team oriented with solid organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Some travel can be expected.
  • Physical requirements include standing and walking on concrete for extended periods, bending, and using hands and arms; occasional work near moving machinery and hazardous materials with exposure to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/365.
  • Regular exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Schedule flexibility is required.
