Job Description
Responsibilities
- Help transform legacy code into robust, scalable software that preserves the effectiveness of Navy combat systems.
- Contribute as part of a small embedded software development team performing hands-on analysis of legacy complexity, deploying advanced development tools, and integrating modernized solutions.
- Engage with the client daily to implement targeted enhancements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience in Rust and C or C++, including complexity analysis, integration testing, and debugging in a professional environment.
- Experience with containerization (Docker or Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows environments, networking fundamentals, and tools such as Git, SSH, PuTTY, or command-line interfaces.
- Strong grounding in foundational software engineering principles such as modularity, memory management, design patterns, code review, and documentation.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.

NICE IF YOU HAVE

- Experience with Navy acoustic or sonar systems, or other real-time signal processing
- Knowledge of modern streaming platforms such as Kafka or Redpanda
- Interest in applying AI-forward approaches to developer workflows such as hosting LLMs, vector databases, or LangChain
- Secret clearance
Work Model
- Remote: If listed as remote, there may be occasions to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: You may be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and role needs; you may also need to work from or visit a customer facility.
- Onsite: Work primarily at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
- Virtual work may require cameras on during meetings to support engagement.
Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Compensation
The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).
Salary is determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
