Platform Engineer

The Platform Engineer role in Cincinnati, onsite, focuses on identifying and implementing monitoring and observability initiatives across enterprise applications. The position leverages Dynatrace, Splunk, AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and related tools to deliver Level 2 support and drive resiliency improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Enterprise Modernization IT Observability and Monitoring program by gathering requirements and designing, building, and implementing monitoring solutions for applications across Internet and Mobile Banking, ACE, FNA, IVR, Open Consumer, and more than 200 additional applications.
• Contribute to ongoing, world-class availability and reliability of digital applications by modernizing and automating logging and monitoring within hosting environments.
• Assist in reviewing and rearchitecting hosting environments to create dual-paths between components and run them in active-active configurations across multiple environments.
• Play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and implementing monitoring initiatives for both existing and future applications.
• Establish monitoring strategies, develop monitors, and build dashboards using advanced techniques such as synthetic transactions and heat maps.
• Gather and analyze capacity, availability, and performance data to identify opportunities to enhance resiliency and monitoring capabilities.
• Provide technical and architectural recommendations to increase hosting environment resiliency to meet availability and reliability requirements.
• Provide Level 2 support in close collaboration with Level 1, Dev/Agile, and Infrastructure teams.
• Develop a deep understanding of IT teams, processes, and systems to interpret business issues and adjust priorities while managing multiple in-progress assignments.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience administering and delivering all aspects of application support and service delivery, including incident management, availability, and performance monitoring; familiarity with incident resolution, root cause analysis, and capacity planning.
