Job Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join the on-site team in Oklahoma City. The role centers on identifying vulnerabilities in software and hardware, developing automation for cybersecurity processes, and guiding the security architecture across the full system lifecycle.

Overview

Location: Oklahoma City, OK (onsite). Salary range: USD 102,600 to 153,800 per year. This position emphasizes hands-on cybersecurity work within a high‑stakes engineering environment and requires advanced STEM credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Address complex cybersecurity challenges across software and hardware systems.
  • Review results from static code analysis to inform risk decisions.
  • Perform Cybersecurity Impact Appraisals and Evaluations on hardware and software projects.
  • Generate and maintain artifacts required for Air Force authorization decisions.
  • Conduct system vulnerability scans using tools such as ACAS and STIGs.
  • Carry out manual STIG and SRG verifications on diverse equipment, including data collection and evaluation of findings.
  • Perform system categorization based on impact analysis.
  • Develop artifacts for RMF packages, including System Security Plan, Continuous Monitoring Plan, Risk Assessment Report, Security Control Traceability Matrix, and Plan of Actions & Milestones.
  • Participate in systems engineering events spanning the lifecycle of the system.
  • Contribute to Systems Engineering Technical Review events such as PDR, CDR, SRR, and TRR.
  • Implement, review, and assess cybersecurity requirements verification and validation methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with at least 5 years of relevant military or professional experience, or a Master's in STEM with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Active US Government Secret or higher clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance as required.
  • Experience in cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and evaluations.
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, NSS/CSA PM 9-12, and JSIG.

Primary Level Salary Range

$102,600.00 - $153,800.00
