The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, verifies, and maintains Windows and Linux software for advanced hardware systems, engaging across the full software development life cycle, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Architecture and development: design, implement, and maintain high-performance C/C++ software components, including GUI-based front end test applications and API wrapper DLLs for SDK products targeting Windows and Linux.
- Integration and testing: perform hardware/software integration, debugging, and performance optimization; develop and execute test scripts to verify deliverable software products.
- Technical leadership: lead technical design reviews, address complex system-level debugging, and actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and architectural guidance.
- Customer support engineering: identify and resolve customer technical issues with software applications and SDKs.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, or 5+ years with an advanced degree.
- Core language skills: deep proficiency in C/C++ with strong scripting abilities in Python or Bash for automation and data analysis.
- System knowledge: experience developing software for custom FPGA-based hardware.
- Embedded protocols: familiarity with data buses and communication protocols such as PCIe, USB, ARINC 818, and Ethernet.
