Patton LLC is seeking a Principal Electronic System Engineer to lead the design of secure, mission-critical electronic systems for defense, aerospace, and secure communications markets. Responsibilities
- Lead as the electrical system architect for secure communications and mission critical products, guiding work from requirements through production release.
- Develop and implement system level electrical architectures that address EMI/EMC, emissions control, signal integrity, power integrity, and grounding.
- Design enclosure bonding, shielding, and cable interfaces, including solutions requiring TEMPEST or TEMPEST like mitigation techniques.
- Drive emission reduction efforts for conducted and radiated emissions and establish effective filtering, shielding, grounding, and isolation strategies.
- Apply RED/BLACK separation concepts and secure interfaces, ensuring layout and mechanical integration minimize unintended emanations.
- Translate customer, program, and regulatory requirements for secure electronics into actionable engineering designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience with ownership of system level design.
- Proven track record as a technical lead or principal engineer while remaining hands-on.
- Strong expertise in electrical system architecture.
- Solid background in schematic capture and PCB design.
- Experience in EMI/EMC constrained design environments.
- Practical experience with TEMPEST or emission-security driven design, or extensive experience designing electronics for highly controlled EMI/EMSEC environments.
- Experience delivering products for defense, aerospace, secure communications, or similarly regulated markets.
