Principal Software Engineer

Unity Technologies is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to strengthen Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps capabilities. This role centers on building and operating dependable, scalable infrastructure, improving service availability and performance, and guiding teams through infrastructure best practices.

Role Focus

You will help design and sustain infrastructure that supports reliable software delivery. The position emphasizes operational automation, incident readiness, and disaster recovery planning, with close collaboration across software engineering and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure
• Lead improvements to system availability and performance
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows
• Develop incident response and disaster recovery strategies
• Collaborate with software engineering and infrastructure teams
• Mentor engineers and establish technical best practices

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering, SRE, or DevOps
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and monitoring tools
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages
• Excellent technical leadership and problem-solving skills

Compensation

Salary: USD 160,000 to 210,000 per year
