Principal Software Engineer - Backend & AI Infra

The Principal Software Engineer for Backend & AI Infra will help advance CVector’s core backend platform, with a focus on time-series data systems, AI-assisted analytics, and the infrastructure that supports customer-facing applications and internal modeling platforms.

Role Overview

In this Principal Software Engineer role, you will evolve the platform that powers CVector’s backend and AI infrastructure. The position is centered on working close to data and infrastructure layers, applying architectural judgment across distributed backend services, and operating across AI systems, databases, and ingestion pipelines.

You will collaborate closely with product, modeling, and frontend engineers, while playing a meaningful role in shaping platform direction, reliability, and long-term scalability.

Responsibilities

• Evolve CVector’s core backend platform.
• Work on time-series data systems, AI-assisted analytics, cloud infrastructure, and data ingestion pipelines that power customer-facing applications and internal modeling platforms.
• Take ownership of complex systems.
• Drive major technical migrations.
• Shape how intelligence is embedded into industrial energy workflows.
• Collaborate closely with product, modeling, and frontend engineers.
• Influence platform direction, reliability, and long-term scalability.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Experience building and maintaining multiple generations of distributed systems.
• Awareness of the latest developments in agentic system design, with the drive to build a leading-edge system.
• Evidence of leaving a clear technical impact within a relevant area of the industry.
