Job Description

Baxter, based in Round Lake, IL, is seeking a Senior Engineer, UI/UX to design safe, intuitive interfaces for medical devices and digital health solutions within a regulated product development environment. This onsite role delivers high-fidelity designs, interaction flows, prototypes, and usability insights while partnering with R&D, Human Factors, Systems Engineering, Quality, and Software teams. The position offers a salary range of USD 96,000 to 132,000 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree in UX-related fields with at least three years of UX/Product design experience.

Responsibilities

Create end-to-end experiences from discovery through delivery for web, touch, and embedded platforms.
Convey design intent through whiteboarding, user stories, workflows, wireframes, and visual builds from low-fidelity prototypes to final design assets.
Conduct competitive analyses and user research to inform design decisions.
Collaborate with Human Factors to translate research insights into designs.
Work with Product & Engineering to define scope and deliver solutions.
Contribute to and apply design systems.
Participate in reviews and iterate based on feedback.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors, or related field, plus 3+ years of UX/Product Design experience.
A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design and journey/service thinking.
Experience collaborating with research teams such as Human Factors.
Experience with user research, interaction design, information architecture, and usability testing.
Ability to balance input from cross-functional teams.
Proficiency with design tools such as Figma.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Healthcare or regulated industry experience; exposure to Agile environments preferred.
