Principal Software Engineer with Test Solutions

This onsite Principal Software Engineer with Test Solutions role sits in Tucson, AZ with a salary range of USD 107,500 to 204,500 per year. You will design, develop, and integrate object oriented software (C#, C++) for Windows with test instrumentation, while mentoring engineers within a secure environment. Responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate object oriented software applications using C#, C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows.
• Manage multiple software engineering tasks concurrently with clear prioritization.
• Troubleshoot software and test equipment instrumentation to ensure robust performance.
• Collaborate within a multidiscipline engineering team environment to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop and derive requirements for software products to meet project goals.
• Lead and mentor junior software engineers to foster skill growth and project progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
• Experience developing and integrating software applications using languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python or Visual Basic.
• Proficiency with integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software implementations and ensure product integrity.
• Prior experience with Windows operating system and Microsoft Visual Studio is required.
• DoD Secret level security clearance is required; candidate must be able to obtain interim clearance prior to start date, and U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and digital multimeters.

• Experience developing software drivers for hardware interfaces.
• Familiarity with common hardware interfaces and data protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, and RS-422.
• Proficiency with UML to visualize software architecture and design.
• Experience across software development lifecycles, including Waterfall and Agile approaches.
• Knowledge of Software Configuration Management principles.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Server or GitHub.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Record of leading technical teams or projects.
