Principal / Sr. Principal RF Microwave Design Engineer

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (AMS E&S) is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal RF Microwave Design Engineer for onsite work in Baltimore, MD. This role combines RF/Microwave design and analysis responsibilities with hands-on support across receiver/exciter and antenna/RF performance areas. Responsibilities

• Derive, flow down, and maintain subsystem requirements (hardware and software)
• Support systems architecture and receiver/exciter architecture
• Develop and document engineering work, including test procedures, test reports, RF requirements, data analysis, and data presentation
• Perform data processing, measurements and data reduction, and performance modeling
• Support performance testing and requirements verification
• Work with integrated subsystems including DREX and antenna hardware
• Contribute to subsystem integration, test, and system integration
• Conduct Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
• Perform in-depth analysis of hardware commanding down to the register level
• Troubleshoot RF subsystems
• Execute requirements generation/flow down

Requirements

• Must hold a Secret or Top-Secret security clearance
• Education and experience alignment:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 4 years of experience in the job description areas
  • or Master’s Degree with 2 years of experience
  • or PhD with 0 years of experience
  • Additional 4 years of experience on lieu of degree is acceptable
• Proficient in MATLAB and strong knowledge using MATLAB
• Experience processing large amounts of data
• Understanding of Antenna/RF Performance Analysis
• Additional education/experience for Sr. Principal level (as applicable):
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience in the job description areas
  • or Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience
  • or PhD with 3 years of experience
  • Additional 4 years of experience on lieu of degree is acceptable
• For Sr. Principal Engineers: demonstrated ability in technical and team leadership overseeing engineers at least at the Principal level
• Strong understanding of AESA / phased array, Radar, SIGINT, or SATCOM sensors
• Ability to delegate, task, and oversee junior RF engineers
• TS/SCI clearance and SAP clearance
• Experience troubleshooting RF subsystems
• Strong understanding of Antenna/RF performance analysis
• Requirements generation/flow down experience

Clearance required for start: Yes. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time. This role is contingent upon Program Award and requires Secret clearance (and obtaining SAP clearance).

Primary level salary range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
Secondary level salary range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
