Job Description

The Principal / Senior Principal Systems Engineer on the Sentinel program leads key systems engineering activities, including requirements, architecture, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE). This onsite role is based in Colorado Springs, CO, with potential assignments to Roy, UT; Huntsville, AL; Bellevue, NE; or remaining in Colorado Springs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program IPT partners to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
  • Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to mature architecture content for large program designs.
  • Develop and incorporate appropriate system requirements and ensure their representation in the model.
  • Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture across behavioral, structural, and analytical viewpoints.
  • Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
  • Develop unified model techniques, procedures, and processes for model development, tool integration, and team alignment.
  • Support activities including use-case development, requirements definition and allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification and validation, and requirements traceability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of experience; with a master's degree, 3 years; with a PhD, 0 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years of experience; with a master's degree, 6 years; with a PhD, 4 years.
  • U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance and an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Ability to pass Enhanced Security Clearance screening within a timeframe determined by the company.
  • 1+ years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or a similar tool.
  • 1+ year of experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or in a complex aerospace/defense system.
  • 1+ year of experience working in team environments with leadership responsibilities.
  • 1+ year of experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation.
  • 2+ years of experience with requirements management, analysis, and allocations.
  • 2+ years of experience with Model-Based Engineering / MBSE practices and tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or MagicDRAW.
  • 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following domains: Command & Control (C2), physical security, cybersecurity, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems/processes, communications systems, facility design, or military aerospace development (e.g. Sentinel, Minute Man III, B-2, B-21).
