Process Engineer Group Leader
Job Description
The Process Engineer Group Leader oversees the formation and guidance of Garver’s process engineering team at the Greenville Water Design Center and Water Services Group, delivering process design and project management for onsite projects in Greenville, South Carolina. The role commands a master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, a PE license or eligibility, and a minimum of ten years of technical experience, with a salary range of USD 113,256 to 161,532 per year.
Responsibilities
- Assist regional teams with opportunities in treatment related business development
- Create conceptual designs for water and wastewater treatment systems
- Produce detailed designs and contract documents, including plans and specifications
- Coordinate with the process and mechanical teams to deliver detailed design services for treatment facilities
- Prepare design calculations and collaborate across disciplines, interface with regional Garver offices and regulatory agencies, assist with construction cost estimates, and ensure quality assurance and control
- Lead and mentor project teams, align schedules, monitor budgets, and ensure deliverables conform to Garver standards
- Participate in client meetings and industry conferences as the subject matter expert for the Water Business Line
- Recruit top talent to strengthen the process engineering group
- Define scope, schedule, level of effort, and fee estimates for projects
- Guide professional development and mentorship within the process team
- Advance detailed design through cross-disciplinary coordination
- Plan and manage process staff workload and capacity
- Develop detailed plans and specifications for projects
- Coordinate and maintain project schedules
- Plan and monitor project budgets
- Ensure compliance with the quality program and deliverables aligned to Garver standardization
- Develop process standards and tools, oversee procurement, and provide training
- Travel may be required for business development, proposals, interviews, knowledge transfer, and industry conferences; project specific travel for site assessments, design reviews, and construction support may also be needed
- Collaborate effectively to resolve issues through close interaction with project stakeholders
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or eligible to obtain licensure
- Ten plus years of technical experience, including at least two years in project or team leadership
