Job Description

Based onsite in Greenville, South Carolina, this Senior Electrical Design Engineer role leads electrical engineering and design efforts on large-scale heavy industrial projects. It is a hands-on, senior position that blends technical leadership with cross-disciplinary coordination and client-facing responsibilities across the full project lifecycle. A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience are required, with eligibility to obtain PE licensure required.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical engineering and design activities for large-scale heavy industrial projects
Apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) to electrical distribution systems, equipment specifications, hazardous area classifications, grounding, and lighting design
Coordinate closely with mechanical, process, and other engineering disciplines to ensure complete and accurate project scope development
Review general arrangements, P&IDs, and process equipment lists to define electrical scope
Develop load lists and single-line diagrams
Prepare motor elementaries
Design electrical room layouts
Create grounding plans and details
Produce lighting and power plans with raceway routing
Prepare cable schedules and electrical equipment specifications
Integrate electrical design activities into overall project schedules and coordinate logic ties with other disciplines
Work directly with process equipment vendors to review documentation and identify electrical design requirements
Travel to client sites as needed to gather field information and collaborate with client electrical counterparts

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Eligibility to obtain PE registration is required
Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience with a strong emphasis on consulting engineering
Extensive experience leading electrical project teams, including engineers and designers
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Analytical, detail-oriented thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience mentoring and developing other electrical engineers
