Project Engineer

Alternate Energy, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support the design and field readiness of renewable energy systems onsite in Pearl City, HI. This full-time role combines hands-on technical work with coordinated design and administration, helping projects move from permitting and utility submissions through site survey and performance modeling.

What you’ll do

• Execute permitting requirements and process OTC permit designs.
• Process HECO app designs as part of the utility approval workflow.
• Support the preparation of requirements documents and participate in design verification and validation.
• Contribute to technical design reviews covering photovoltaic, HVAC (air conditioning), and solar water heating systems.
• Complete site survey work, including site analysis to inform system design.
• Perform electrical load and energy consumption analysis, including utility rate structure analysis.
• Produce accurate system performance calculations for project proposals.
• Develop system proposal designs and associated calculations.
• Design monitoring systems for installed solutions.

• Strong knowledge of electrical theory and experience with multiple power distribution voltages.
