Protection and Automation Engineer

AZZO Pty Ltd is hiring a Protection and Automation Engineer to support the delivery of control, protection, and automation systems used for safe and reliable energy operations. The role focuses on planning and executing testing, commissioning, and integration, coordinating technical work across client and vendor teams.

This is a remote or hybrid position based in Franklin, TN, with travel expected for site visits.

What you’ll do

• Design, configure, test, and execute advanced PCA solutions tailored to customer requirements.
• Plan and carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and energisation activities for control, automation, and electrical systems.
• Serve as a key client-facing engineering representative during testing, commissioning, and project close-out.
• Support EPMS, SCADA, PLC, and automation system integration by verifying communications, data mapping, and control functionality.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Protection, Control, and Automation projects.
• Experience using Schweitzer engineering labs, as well as ABB and other industrial automation platforms such as PLC, SCADA, DCS, or EPMS.
• Understanding of electrical protection systems, including switchgear, RMUs, ATS, and related control systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
