Job Description

This entry level PV Test Engineer role is based in Albuquerque, NM (onsite) with a salary range of USD 65,000 to 80,000 per year. The position involves developing test procedures, conducting tests, and producing reports for performance, reliability, safety, and certification testing of photovoltaic equipment across technologies, with measurements taken indoors using an AAA flasher and outdoors under natural sunlight, and collaboration with customers on customized test programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to identify their testing requirements and priorities.
  • Lead and perform advanced performance testing of PV modules, racking, and tracking equipment.
  • Select and configure test and data acquisition equipment for both indoor and outdoor setups.
  • Support the internal Quality Management program to maintain ISO 17025 conformance.
  • Guide technicians and operators in conducting tests and maintaining equipment.
  • Develop tailored test programs, and prepare technical proposals and specifications for customers.
  • Analyze test results statistically, prepare test reports, and review reports for accuracy.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science in a scientific or engineering discipline is required.
  • Ability to specify, operate, and program data acquisition equipment.
  • Proficiency in programming and analyzing data with Excel, Python, or other scientific scripting languages.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a physically active laboratory environment, including moving equipment and test samples.
