Python Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer

Hybrid Python AI and Machine Learning Engineer role in Tampa, FL on a contract basis with potential temp-to-hire; six-month estimate; $60-$65 hourly.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead practical design and hands-on implementation of Python frameworks to deliver scalable, resilient, high-performance applications.
• Develop solutions that adhere to architectural standards, leveraging deep technical expertise and business-domain knowledge.
• Design and build agentic workflows and autonomous AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, and tool utilization.
• Enforce SDLC best practices and contribute to code quality through structured reviews and governance.
• Support polyglot programming efforts, including Java, to accommodate diverse technology stacks.
• Work with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka and support data warehousing needs.
• Contribute to frontend development efforts using React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Lead development for Stress Testing and Regulatory Risk projects within the Market Risk domain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Risk, Quants, Front Office, DevOps, and Production Support to ensure seamless delivery.
• Manage technical aspects of projects, including planning, governance, and ownership of major initiatives.
• Deliver high-quality solutions independently in a globally matrixed environment and under tight deadlines.
