Job Description

Onsite opportunity in Marysville, Michigan with a competitive salary of USD 80,000 to 90,000 per year. This role supports customer and quality standards by assisting in design and assembly processes, including APQP, continuous improvement, testing, layouts, inspection, and supplier monitoring, under the guidance of the Quality Operating Systems / Special Projects Senior Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating quality systems to ensure compliance with TS 16949 and ISO 14001, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other required standards such as homologation, Q1, 5 Star, and VDA.
  • Monitor adherence to company policies and procedures and take appropriate action for non-compliance as assigned.
  • Support internal audits and help coordinate external registrations and customer audits.
  • Assist in Management Reviews to promote continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate intra-company, supplier, and customer communication to sustain ongoing improvements within assigned departments.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining applicable procedures for the assigned departments.
  • Assist in reviewing and maintaining records in accordance with customer or government requirements.
  • Administer the SMR global KPI system and participate in monthly KPI reporting, addressing customer concerns and internal issues to ensure documentation is updated (PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.) and read-across is conducted.
  • Support Quality Management goals and objectives across IPMD processes, computer system enhancements, APQP, QADSAP, Warranty, Incoming Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Laboratory, and Quality Engineering.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in quality assurance positions with responsibility.
  • Implementation or maintenance of TS 16949 and ISO 9001 / IATF 16949.
  • Quality Cost Analysis experience.
  • Quality Information Systems experience.
  • Problem solving methodology experience (8D, 5 Why, or equivalents).
  • Organizing and maintaining electronic files and records; maintaining accurate documentation.
  • AIAG requirements experience: PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, APQP (or equivalent quality planning and management).
  • Proficiency with common software: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Internet Explorer, MS Teams, OneDrive.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information clearly to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Proficiency with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry; understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is beneficial for automotive applications.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
