Job Description

This onsite role in Wadsworth, OH leads end-to-end polymer product development from concept to commercialization, collaborating with local and global R&D teams, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional groups to create innovative polymer solutions that drive business growth and customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all stages of product development from concept and prototyping to validation and full-scale production launch.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, global R&D, and cross-functional teams to align on project requirements and schedules.
  • Assess and qualify new raw materials, additives, and technologies for automotive and industrial applications.
  • Review automotive material specifications and testing requirements per OEM, ASTM, ISO, UL, and related industry standards.
  • Support customer approvals, including material submissions, qualifications, technical audits, and communications with OEMs and external laboratories.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot product or process-related issues.
  • Analyze laboratory, pilot, and production data to optimize formulations and enhance product performance.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems.
  • Prepare and maintain technical and regulatory documentation, including specifications, test reports, and material declarations.
  • Manage multiple parallel engineering projects while meeting deadlines and cost targets.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Marketing, Production, and customers throughout development, commercialization, and problem resolution.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to elevate product quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in polymer, plastics, or product development (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail.
